The 1st TIRAMISU Winter Workshop runs from January 19 to 23, 2026 at Politecnico di Torino, organised by the Department of Control and Computer Engineering (DAUIN) together with Dumarey Softronix. It is the first in an annual series hosted in turn by the project partners, and it brings the doctoral candidates together for a week of technical and transferable-skills training. The week closes with the project's Mid-Term Review Meeting with the European Commission.
Eleven training sessions make up the programme. On the technical side, Said Hamdioui (TU Delft) covers energy efficiency through computation-in-memory, Ernesto Sanchez (PoliTo) looks at silent data corruption in AI devices, Ahmet Cagri Bagbaba (Cadence Design Systems) takes automotive functional safety from the hardware angle, and Jürgen Alt (Infineon Technologies) works through what safety, quality and reliability actually cost in microcontroller devices. Davide Appello (Technoprobe) turns to the industrialisation problems that come with advanced packaging, and Fabio Autieri (Dumarey Softronix) explains how software is redefining the automotive industry.
The rest of the week is deliberately not about chips. Satyam Mohla opens the workshop with a session on innovation management, Uljana Reinsalu (TalTech) runs one on cultural intelligence and intercultural communication, Moritz Fieback (TU Delft) covers how to write a convincing paper, and Juan Carlos De Martin (PoliTo) closes with a talk on computer technology and society. The doctoral candidates present their individual research projects in a poster session on Wednesday and receive direct feedback from the TIRAMISU Advisory Board the same afternoon. A visit to the Dumarey Softronix labs, a social event and a consortium dinner round out the week.
Friday, January 23 is given over to the Mid-Term Review Meeting with the European Commission, where all 13 doctoral candidates present their work to the REA Project Officer.
